Beauty Tricks from Kitchen

Beauty Tricks from Kitchen

Moisturizing egg white face mask: It can be quite smelly, but it's inexpensive, and some people swear that egg whites help shrink pores—putting an end to acne and blackhead woes. Try this honey and egg white facial mask and see for yourself. Mix a tablespoon of honey with an egg white and whisk. Spread on your face, and leave for 15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. Since egg whites can be drying, the honey acts as a great moisturiser to soften the skin.

Garlic for stronger nails: It may smell kinda, well, garlicky, but it's a secret Dominican women use to keep their nails super strong! Finely chop some garlic and add this to a bottle of clear nail polish. Let it sit for about seven to 10 days, then apply on your nails. The logic behind this is that our nails contain sulfur and protein—and garlic contains sulfur, so it helps strengthen our nails.

Exfoliating milk bath: Want smooth, supple skin all over your body? Take a hint from Cleopatra and run a milk bath. Run a bath and add two to four cups of milk (roughly one liter) to the running water. Milk is rich in lactic acid, which gently removes dead skin cells from the body. Pump up the dead skin cell removal by mixing a handful of oatmeal with honey, and rubbing this on your skin. Oatmeal is a natural exfoliator and skin soother, while honey is a well-known natural moisturizer.

Tea bags to get rid of eye bags: If you had to pull yet another all-nighter at the office (or maybe you were partying too hard again with the girls!), you're probably sporting puffy, swollen eyes. Here's how to get rid of the evidence of last night's events: brew two tea bags, and squeeze out the excess liquid. Pop them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. After that, apply the tea bags on your eyes for about ten minutes. The caffeine in the tea helps tone down the swelling.

Coffee to beat cellulite: The next time you make a cup of coffee, don't throw out the coffee grounds. Instead, use them for a coffee wrap! The caffeine in coffee helps metabolize fat in the skin, which can help in reducing the appearance of cellulite. Grab some used coffee grounds and mix it with some olive oil. Heat this in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Apply the mixture to cellulite-prone areas, like your thighs and legs, and wrap with plastic wrap. Leave it on for about 30 minutes, remove the plastic wrap, and hop in the bath tub and rinse off.

Make Up Expiration Date

I would usually discard my makeup after reaching 3rd years of usage, regardless if its new, unused or unfinished.

Googled around and found out that most people would recommend expiration @ shelf life for:
-Lipstick, Lipgloss : 1 year
-Eye, Lip Pencil : 1 year
-Mascara : 3 months
-Concealers: 6-8 months
-Powder (pressed or loose) : 1 year
-Facial Cleansers & Moisturizers: 6 months
-Facial Toners: 1 year
-Natural Cosmetics: 6 months

Personally i dont trust much of the answers provided by the experts. Let's say they saying this and that (exaggerating the expiration date and such) to market their products and make the sales increase.

Okay ladies, lets play safe: Discard your makeup when it's:

Smell Fishy fishy :)
Hardened
White Spots appear (aka fungi)
Bad shape (became to creamy or too oily)
Exposed to more than 30 deg for long hours or days.
Acne, Itchiness, swollen or allergic (your skin can tell if your makeup doesnt work well)

Btw, i have an interesting pics to show what happen to a lipstick after 4-5 years (only God knows how long that lipstick had been kept).

Side 1.

Side 2.

Creepy rigggghhhtt???
(Sorry for the low quality pics. i snapped using my SE HP. There's clearer pics below but take note i accidentally dropped this lipstick during 2nd shoot using SE Cam. Means the lipstick almost broken & 'shifted' a bit and the exact look of the lipstick with the well spread 'fungi' had already 'altered' due to erm..accident).

There's white like fungi thingy grow on both side of the lipstick.
Forgot to mention this is really old lipstick, (bout 3 years ago when mum bought it i think) + only-god-knows how long its been on the shelf. Brand? Wet and Wild. I doubt this brand still exists in the Malaysia market (correct me if im wrong. I thought it being replaced by Silky girl brand?)

So, have you 'housekeeping' your makeups lately?

Hada Labo

Picture credited to My Women Stuff

Have you girls tried Hada Labo products? DId any of you tried it already?

When i read the review of the products from My Women Stuff , i was overwhelming with curiosity!
So i search high n low in Lowyat Forum and i found almost all of it sold out! I know its available at Guardian for RM 40.90 (170ml) but i prefer looking around for a cheaper price (and hoped for someone or somebody just plain lazy to use and sold it off it for cheaper price).

Well, lucky me after 1 week looking, a forumer posted her Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion and its priced for only rm20 without postage (owner claims it lefts 98%). So i proceed my order and now im waiting for my stuff to arrive. Im sucks at writting reviews, and there's a high chance i will not write bout my experience using Hada Labo though.

A video of how to use Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing.

Shiseido Mask II

Copy and Paste direct from Here.
All credits belong to the author.

Recently we have found many imitation of Shiseido Blackhead nose mask from China selling online. How to different real or fake? Fortunately I just get a sample from my buyer that purchase with 50 cent cheaper in price and found that big different with my real stock. I will show you all the pictures of packing 1st because I lost the content picture.

Besides showing the picture, Let me explain the content. The cream is 50% more transparent black than real stock. It is very sticky and smell like gum. My buyer test it and found the cream is hardly get dry and finally direct wash out without waiting to peel off. Who want take risk while you know this is fake right?

Let see the example pictures:

From front and back packing we can see that:
1) There is no open mouth for fake product.
2) Worst side laminate(You can see the pixels).
3) We can clearly see the wording is printing 1cm lower from top.
4) There is no manufacture date printed bottom of fake product.

Compare from the bottom side you can clearly found the fake item fully with air(Thick in size). Even the product is real, if the air in alr run-in sure the quality drop and can’t last long.

* So beware & avoid of fake product and always protect your skin well.

************************************************************************************
From my own Pictures.

- There's open mouth.
-Good Lamination.
-Word printing as the ori.
-Manufactured date printed on top (invisible in the pic).

BUT..
-there's two open mouth on both side.
-The Labels in Light purple colour.
-And the font looks a bit bolder than the real pics.

So how lah??
Issit Ori or not?
T_T

(Priced for RM 1.50 to RM 3.00 each)
